10 Things I Love About Tate...

I have a favorite 7 and3/4 year old boy named Tate... He is such a sweetie and here are 10 things I love about him:
  1. Tate is so full of energy it is hard to be lazy when he is around.
  2. He has the sweetest, most tender heart.
  3. Tate has a great sense of humor and loves to tell jokes, sometimes they aren't funny but the way he tells them makes them funny.
  4. I love the way that Tate is up for learning about anything and everything. He is so inquisitive.
  5. I haven't met another kid with such a great imagination.
  6. Tate is an open book. He doesn't hide his feelings and I LOVE that about him.
  7. Tate has a real open mind and heart about God. I didn't have that at his age and he is so in tune with it all. Sometimes I am jealous that he seems to really get it at this age. It took me a while.
  8. Tate ALWAYS wakes up in a good mood, again, jealous.. wish I could always wake up happy.
  9. Tate loves to argue, debate I should say. Usually this drives me crazy but I think it is a good quality to question things.
  10. Mostly I am happy that he is my son. Icouldn'thave asked for a better one!
Love you Tate!

Last Weekend

I have been so busy I haven't posted about the fun weekend we had. My friend Annette had her annual Halloween Party. It was so fun. She had AMAZING food and fun crafts for the kids. After that her neighborhood meets at the park and trick or treats. The kids had such a good time. I miss my work friends and don't get to see them as often as I would like... such is the life of a stay home mom.
This weekend was also my niece Madalyn's birthday...she is already 2. I can't believe it. She had so much fun at her party. She got a cute doll house, clothes and a girly t-ball set. We love you Mady.

Tagged!!!!!!!

Thanks Bree! Bree Tagged me to find the 4th picture in the 4th folder on my computer.. Well, it is a little blurry but cute nonetheless. This was in 2006 on our vacation in Virginia. It was taken at Ricks aunt Joyce and Uncle Chucks home. It is one of the most beautiful homes/properties I have seen. Acres of green and big trees. We are told that some of the Civil War activity took place down the street. Kalvyn and Tate loved the horses and the wolf in the bottom corner was Tates buddy the whole time. He was literally out wrestling with it in the grass. I was afraid he would come in with his face bitten off. We will have to go back soon.
Now I tag Sara and Susie! Come on Susie, you have to do this one...

Bad Mom

Today I am a bad mom. I was preoccupied
Mopping the kitchen floor. It was disaster from the weekend. I look over and Blake has emptied the desk drawer. He is saying ouch, ouch, ouch. I go over and he has a nickel in his mouth, you know, just the right size to block a wind pipe, he is holding a tac and poking himself with it over and over and also has an ink pen in one hand. I swear I only had my back turned for 2 minutes.... He thinks he is pretty funny!

Cousins

This week Ricks brother Chad and his wife Misty went to China for a week. They will be moving in June for his job and they went on their "preview" trip. We had the honor of helping with the kids this week. It is surely no easy task taking on 4 extra kids! They were great though. Everybody pitched in and helped with cooking, cleaning up dinner and helping each other. The only complaint is that most of these kids DO NOT pick up after themselves. I swear, if everyone just put things back where they got them from, life would be easy. Rick took the kids to Tate's soccer game Saturday.(I stayed home with sick baby, see prior entry). Later that night we went driving around looking at all the Halloween decorations in the neighborhood. Sunday we went to the later service at church( God Bless all my friends who get 4-5 kids ready for 8am church??) and then went to Chapparal Park for fishing, skating, selling lemonade and relaxing. It was a lot of fun to see the kids play together even though they are getting older. C.J. is now 15, Jordyn is almost 13, Madison is 8,and Luke is 5.

Rick and I decided that we probably couldn't do 7 kids. HAHA!

Sick Baby..

Poor Blake was feeling under the weather today. He has had a few fevers in his short life but he has never really thrown up....until today. It was nonstop from about 7:30am- about 9pm. He slept on and off all day. When he wasn't sleeping he was laying on me. This happened to be the weekend we had 4 additional children at our house and his being sick sure didn't make things easier.
Since I was the one holding him all day, I changed clothes 6, yes 6 times today. I also took 2 showers. I also managed to throw dinner together for Ricks aunt Linda who had surgery yesterday. I think I am ready to go to bed now!
We are enjoying having our nieces and nephews here though. The kids are having a blast, and haven't killed each other, yet.

October Break

Oh I just love this time of year... No, the leaves are not changing colors, but it is under 100 degrees. We can actually go out and play at the park, ride bikes, walk to school ect...
Although we only had 2 days off of school, we did manage to do alot. My mom always says we never sit still, I guess she is right. We worked in a dentist appointment, got a new dog, played a mean game of BINGO at the library, I had diner with my beautiful friend (inside and out) Sara, Rick went mountain biking with his buddies from work, did an airport run, took the kids to Chapparal Park and went fishing. I am sure I am leaving something out but you get the point.

Jesse has a friend!?!?!?

We have aquired a new doggy dog from a friend of Ricks at work. Apparently they used to breed her but it didn't go well the last time and she had 7 puppies(normal is 2). They wanted her to go to a good home with a neutered male. Well, she is spectacular. Her name was Fruity???? but we couldn't live with that so her name is now LUCY. She is a Yorkie, about the same size as Jesse and very lovable. She has made buddies with Tate for sure. She and Jesse pretty much ignored each other the first day. Then we had a day of "lets see who's boss". Now it has pretty much calmed down. She is trying to learn the ins and outs of our family and routine. Unfortunatly Kalvyn was out of town this week and is DYING to meet her. We pick her up at the airport today and she will get her chance.
Lucy has a new name tag (pink heart)and a super cute collar and leash, brown with pink polka dots...it's all about style baby!

Scary Hair!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who am I? Am I the Heat Meiser? Am I the dude from Flock of Seagulls?

Wow, Blake has some scary hair . He wakes up like this more often than not. I don't know what he does in his sleep but it is pretty funny. Maybe I'll blackmail him with these photos when his first girlfriend comes over some day!
